About the Artwork

I live in the Victorian town of Castlemaine. I find myself referring back to the years where I grew up in a rural town in Victoria where the Australian light and atmosphere had such a profound effect on my practice. I have renewed my fascination with the landscape. My art comes from a personal space based on observation and intuition. I build up my paintings through multiple layers of thin oil washes, allowing paint to bleed and merge organically this creates a sense of depth and movement, evoking geological formations, shifting weather patterns and distant horizons.
