This work knocked us out at first glance and kept giving. The longer you look at it, the better it gets. It doesn’t reveal all its secrets at once. Like the country, it is vibrant and alive. We were all drawn to this work and find it fascinating.

A unique and beautifully done painting with a potent environmental message. Melissa intends to use this residency to explore Tasmania’s rugged and wild landscapes and draw inspiration from the Tasmanian arts scene. We look forward to seeing the work that eventuates from her Tasmanian experience.
