About the Artwork
We all talk about landscape – but what is landscape? Is it what we see, or what we are? We all look from different perspectives. We visualise differently. We compose differently. For me, landscape is lived. It is memory. It is what has been taken, what has been lost, what has been found again. These cars, stacked upon one another, are landscape. They hold journeys, families, ceremony, time interwoven with country. They are presence and absence at once. Marked as SACRED. Nganampa – ours. Yours. Shared. This is being landscape now. Not frozen in the past. Still shifting, still alive.
