About the Artwork
I often return to Tasmania to paint, drawn by the clarity of southern light and the way it falls across a land that’s cool, damp and dense with life. Water feels present in everything, held in the air and moving through the land. It’s a unique landscape, and yet it’s part of the same ancient ground that extends across the country, marked by the movement of water and shaped over millennia by the interplay of natural forces. This work portrays a landscape alive with change, held in the ongoing presence of nature’s elements and the passage of time.
About the Artist
I’m drawn to the natural landscapes of Australia’s southern regions. These environments feel familiar and grounding to me, carrying a sense of home. My work is inspired by the emotion, memory and atmosphere held within these landscapes, as well as the stories they hold.
