About the Artwork

I have spent many years scuba diving and documenting underwater landscapes all over the world’s great reefs. At this time in my life, the reef is firmly entrenched in my imagination, and I often paint it from memory. This is one such painting. In this instance, my enthusiasm could not be contained by the canvas and the final artwork encompasses the frame as well.

About the Artist

Since his first solo exhibition Done has become one of Australia’s most famous artists. His work has been described as the most original style to come out of Australia. Born in 1940, Ken left school at 14 to enter the National Art School. After 5 years study, he commenced a successful career as an art director. At the age of 40, he gave up advertising to become a painter full-time. Since then, he has held over 100 one-man shows and his work is in collections all over the world.
