I walk this path almost every day. It’s along the bikeway that connects my home in Brisbane to the surrounding suburbs. I enjoy seeing the families that gather on the bridge trying to catch a glimpse of the turtles surfacing for air. Sometimes I like to join them in this quiet observation. Turtle Creek captures a moment when the sunlight illuminated the budding yellow flowers changing this everyday scene into something extraordinary.

About the Artist
Julia Sirianni, a Brisbane-based visual artist, fell in love with plein air painting while studying at the Queensland College of Art. She divides her time between her home studio and traveling to capture unique scenes. Fascinated by the blend of natural and man-made elements, her work merges the immediacy of on-location painting with studio refinement.
