About the Artwork

By Water Over Time depicts the First Split on the Gordon River. The day’s first rays of light spear through a fluvial quartzite cathedral onto the tannin-soaked waters below. Foam gently swirls in and out of the shadows. The river is quiet, dissimilar to the contorted cliffs that line its path which hold remanence of relentless forces. There I am floating in solitude, humbly dumbfounded by my own insignificance, in a chamber carved by water over time, into rocks nearly as old as life itself.
