About the Artwork
I have been visiting Sparkes Hill Reserve since I was a young child with my family home being at the foot of the hill. Having grown up in the area, it served as a place of discovery and reflection. I often enjoy walking through the forest and looking at the dappled light through the tree foliage, creating a dream like atmosphere that engulfs you. The leaves, vines and trees become vehicles for line as they are bathed in sunlight and shadows.

Callum Francis (B.1995) is an artist based on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Callum explores his connection to the landscape through painting and drawing, a process that is deeply reflective and contemplative. His work is a celebration of his love for the world expressed through painting the feeling of what he sees.
